Cordoba was founded by the Roman 'Claudius Marcellus' in 152 BC. The city reached its artistic and cultural peak during the Arab occupation (711–1236, when it was recaptured by Christian armies). It is unique worldwide for its Arab architecture. In the 10th century, it became the capital of 'Al Andalus,' achieving caliphate status in 929 under Abd ar-Rahman III. The Mosque/Cathedral is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our tour leader will meet you at your hotel along the coast or at a prearranged meeting point and depart towards Cordoba.
Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic city tour followed by a walking tour with a local guide including entrance tickets to the mosque/cathedral and synagogue. Walk through the Jewish quarter, where you will see typical flower-filled streets and patios, as well as the Roman bridge. Free time for independent sightseeing, then return to Costa del Sol and hotels in the afternoon.
Pickup is available from most hotels along the coast, with specific pickup points in Malaga city near the bus stop in front of the police station (address: Plaza Manuel Azaña) and near El Corte Inglés on Avenida de Andalucía (bus stop in front of CaixaBank).
Return to Costa del Sol hotels in the afternoon.
